Sixteen-Star Football Academy U-14 team recorded a convincing 3-0 victory against their counterparts from North Muslim Football Academy in SPC Pakistan Defence Day Football Festival match here at Sixteen-Star Football Ground on September 6 evening.
Abdul Wasay, Abdul Rehman and Usman Khan scored one goal each for the winners in the match that was organized to commemorate Pakistan's Defence Day and instill our youth with the importance day for the nation.
SAFF Games Gold medalist and District Football Association (DFA) Central Secretary Saleem Patni was the chief guest on the occasion. DFA Central Vice President Mohammad Shamim, Joint Secretary Syed Khursheed Ali Shah, Yasir Arafat, Lala Aurangzeb, Mohammad Qasim, Haroon Shirazi, Sheikh Akbar, Mehboob Khan, Mohammad Shehzad, Ibhtesam Ali and others were also present on the occasion.
Sports Promotion Company (SPC) organized this festival with an aim to promote healthy activities among youth of our nation and subsequently promote the idea 'stay healthy and keep away from negative activities' in the backdrop of patriotism.
During the closing ceremony, Saleem Patni praised SPC for organizing the event to pay tribute to Pakistan armed forces for their sacrifices for Pakistan. He also paid homage to Pakistan armed forces' martyrs, who gave away their lives to protect the country.
He also said that organizing sports events for youngsters on occasion of national importance is the best thing one can do as it inspires our youth not only to excel in sports and win laurels for the country but also to stay healthy for their own good, for their families and the country.
