Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML) President Ch Shujaat Hussain and Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Pervez Elahi have vowed to carry forward Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed's mission of public service, stability and unity of the country. They were addressing a large gathering on the occasion of 37th death anniversary of Ch. Zahoor Elahi in Gujrat on Tuesday.
Ch Shujaat Hussain said that with the blessings of Almighty Allah and help of the people we are today successful, many people committed excesses against us but we ignored them because Almighty Allah alone is the Forgiver. Ch . Shujaat said I had promised last year that we will not side with any oppressor or murderer and I am sticking to my promise till today and I repeat this promise again today.
(It may be recalled that Ch. Zahoor Elahi was murdered by PPP's Al-Zulfiqar Organization on 25th September 1981 in Lahore.)
He said that security of Pakistan is dearest to us than our lives because of this as a Prime Minister I had refused to send Pakistan army troops to Iraq. The veteran politician said "I am moving forward carrying message of my father Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed, our entire family is present here today, respect and honor which the residents of Gujrat have given to us we can never forget that, residents of Gujrat should differentiate between their own and strangers, those coming from outside cannot be our well-wishers.
Addressing the gathering Ch Pervez Elahi said that Pakistan army is the best in the world and Pakistanis are a brave nation, India has committed a mistake by challenging us. He said the Indian Army Chief threat is foolish, Pakistan is an atomic power, both the countries cannot afford a war, entire world recognizes the capability of armed forces of Pakistan. He said Modi has his own problems; occupied Kashmir is slipping out of Indian hand that is why they are giving such statements. Modi has been trapped in corruption scandal and he wants to save himself by giving such statements against Pakistan.
Speaker Punjab Assembly said that for safeguarding the motherland there will be only one voice which will be raised everywhere from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, every child of Pakistan is ready to offer every sacrifice for Kashmir cause, Insha-Allah Pakistan will become the voice of Islam because now there is no government of Nawaz Sharif.
Ch Pervez Elahi said that journey of service to the people which Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed had started 60 years ago will continue; today our third generation is carrying it forward, respect which the people particularly the residents of Gujrat has given to us , we are grateful to them after Almighty Allah.
