JI slates closing brick kilns

Deputy Chief of the JI Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha has slated the government's decision to close the brick kilns from October 15 till December 31, and termed it unwise, unlawful and immoral act on the part of government. In a statement issued on Monday, he said the decision to obstruct construction work for almost three works on the pretext of preventing pollution was such that nobody in the government seemed to have thought of its consequences.
Farid Piracha said it appeared that the officers loyal to the previous government were trying to create an impression that the PTI government was taking childish decisions which may lead to public outrage. He said the brick kilns were already closed due to rainy season and after the government's announcement the prices of bricks had increased by Rs 30,000 per thousand.
