Executive Committee of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has passed a resolution unanimously demanded that the discrimination between filers and non-filers as removed in the Finance Supplementary (amendments) Bill 2018 be maintained and non-filers be restricted from purchasing property in excess of Rs 4 million and high-end automobiles.
The resolutions were tabled by FPCCI SVP Syed Mazhar Ali Nasir at a meeting of the Executive Committee of FPPCI held simultaneously at Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore, through video link which was presided over by FPCCI president Ghazanfar Bilour.
The resolution include: 1. Support to the prime minister's initiative for the construction of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dams and launch a campaign to collect donation for these dams. 2. Condemnation of the harassment being made by FBR and FIA to those businessmen who have already declared their assets under the Tax Amnesty Scheme 2017-18.
3. In pursuance of the decision of the previous EC meeting regarding inordinate delay in refunds (sales tax, DLTL) FPCCI will go into litigation against the FBR. Earlier the house discussed various economic issues pertaining to the construction of dam. The house unanimously approved schedule of FPCCI election for the year 2019 and formed election commission consisting of Zubair Chaya, Abdul Rahsid Abro and Masood Naqi.
