Prime Minister Imran Khan has constituted a 22-member Council of Business Leaders to suggest measures for boosting exports, increasing investment and improving Pakistan's ranking in ease of doing business.

According to the notification, the Council of Business Leaders shall ensure Pakistan's business leaders, as representatives of the nation's business community have access to a structured forum to provide feedback on the government's business, economic, investment, tariff and taxation policies.
The Council will ensure that policymakers benefit from a diverse set of opinions to assist in the formulation and implementation of the government's agenda with respect to: (i) creating jobs; (ii) boosting exports; (iii) increasing investment; (iv) enhancing the ease of doing business; and (v) encouraging the participation of overseas Pakistanis and all other areas of policy where the input of the business community is critical. Secretary Commerce will act as Secretary to the Committee of the Council of Business Leaders.
