Dry weather likely for most parts of country

The Met Office on Thursday forecast mainly dry weather for the most parts of the country in the next 24 hours. However, an isolated rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds is expected in Malakand, Hazara, Mardan and Rawalpindi divisions, besides Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on Friday.
In the last 24 hours hot and dry weather gripped the most parts of the country with an isolated rain-thunderstorm in Malakand, Hazara, Kohat, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Sargodha divisions and Kashmir. Maximum temperature was recorded in Turbat 42 degrees Celsius, Mithi, Padidan and Dadu 41, each.
Malamjabba received 17 mm of rainfall, Muzaffarabad 14 mm, Murree received 13 mm of rainfall, Chakwal 12 mm, Garidupatta 8 mm, Mandi Bahauddin 9 mm, Mianwali 7 mm, Saidu Sharif 6 mm, Parachinar 4 mm over the past. "A westerly wave is affecting [the country] and likely to persist during next 2 days," the Met said.
Heat wave is likely to continue in Karachi with a maximum temperature ranging up to 38 degrees Celsius in the next 40 hours. Weather in the city is expected to remain sunny with a maximum of 75 percent humidity during Friday and Saturday.
