Sindh Water Commission (SWC) on Tuesday took notice of establishment of food street on Mir Karam Ali Khan Talpur Road opposite Empress Market Saddar and directed the civic and police authorities to appear in the proceedings on October 11, 2018 in this regard.
The commission headed by former judge of Supreme Court Justice Amir Hani Muslim (retd) passed the order in this connection and directed Metropolitan Commissioner, Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC), Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) and Director General Sindh Building Control Authority (SCBA) to explain about the establishment of this food street by appearing in person in the commission.
"Who has blocked the road? MC, KMC should give the details of the said food street", the order of the commission inquired and asked whether any law permits to hamper the traffic flow. It also directed CCPO and DG SCBA to explain what role they played in this regard.
