The Karachi Port handled 131,208 tonnes of cargo comprising 87,555 tonnes of import cargo and 43,653 tonnes of export cargo including 5,022 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargos of 87,555 tonnes comprised of 36,888 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,340 tonnes of bulk cargo; 6,262 tonnes of DAP; 5,024 tonnes of canola and 38,041 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 43,653 tonnes comprised of 18,286 tonnes of containerised cargo; 12,360 tonnes of clinker; 3,926 tonnes of stone and 9,081 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 5,022 containers comprising of 2,634 containers import and 2,388 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 904 of 20's and 861 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 04 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 589 of 20's and 267 of 40's loaded containers while 215 of 20's and 525 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were eight ships namely Kota Kamil, Xin Fu Zhou, Cape Male, Selin-D, Ocean Marvel, IRIS Bousher (Aorl), IRIS Khadang and IRIS Khanjar carrying containers, chemical, steel and navel ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were five vessels viz. CMA CGM Mumbai, Maliakos, Brilliant, Ananya Naree and KSL Xin Yang carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 204,256 tonnes comprising 142,773 tonnes of import cargo and 61,483 tonnes of export cargo including 3,899 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 142,773 tonnes includes 34,702 tonnes of furnace oil; 3,095 tonnes of palm oil; 6,149 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 43,986 tonnes of coal; 26,600 tonnes of LNG; 1,889 tonnes of LPG; 892 tonnes of bitumen and 25,460 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 61,483 tonnes includes 12,865 tonnes of cement and 48,618 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,899 containers comprising of 1,340 containers import and 2,559 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday. There were three ships namely CV Conti Darwin, MV CL Iris and MT Argent Cosmos carrying containers, coal and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while four more ships namely CV MSC Maria Elena, MT Al-Safiya, MT Gas Husky and MT Euro Brave carrying containers, LNG, LPG and diesel oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eleven vessels viz. CV MSC Maria Elena, CV Conti Darwin, MV Sea Princess, MV Sophia-N, MV Dias, MV Lowland Amstel, MV CL Iris, MT Al-Sofiya, MT Gas Husky, MT Euro Brave and MT Argent Cosmas were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, bitumen, soyabean, cement, coal, LNG, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as nine ships namely CV Tempanos, MV Hercules Ocean, MV Iris Virginia, MV Stove Caledonia, MV New Able, MT Maria-III, MT White Purl, MT Ardmore and MT Argent Cosmas carrying containers, soyabean, coal, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were three vessels viz. CV CH Chinook, CV Tempanos and MV Stove Caledonia carrying containers and coal respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Pakistan International Bulk Terminal respectively on Thursday
There was one ship namely CV GH Chinook carrying containers due to arrive on Thursday, while two ships namely CV Songa Calibria and CV CMA CGM Fidelio carrying containers are due to arrive on Friday.
