Abdullah Gul, a son of former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief late Le-Gen Hamid Gul, on Friday claimed to have survived an attempt on his life. Abdullah Gul talking to media persons outside Safari Hospital, where the body of Maulana Sami-ul-Haq was brought, said armed assailants opened fire at his vehicle on Airport Road; however, he remained unhurt in the attack.
"I was driving my car when two cars intercepted me, and seven to eight bullets were fired at my vehicle," he stated, adding that he was earlier informed by the law enforcement agencies that his name was on the threat list. Police said that the airport police station has started investigation into the incident.
