As many as 11 candidates have filed their nomination papers for two Senate seats from Punjab which fell vacant after disqualification of PML-N senators Sadia Abbasi and Haroon Akhter Khan. Polling on these two seats is scheduled to be held on November 15 in the Punjab Assembly. For one woman Senate seat, seven candidates namely Saira Afzal Tarar, Seemi Aizdi, Dr Zarqa Taimur, Ishart Ashraf, Eshema Shuja and Rubina Shaheen have filed their papers.
For other Senate seat from Punjab, Waleed Iqbal, Jamshed Iqbal Cheema, Saud Majeed and Sheikh Abid Waheed have filed their nomination papers.
