Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, a Grade-21 officer of Police Service of Pakistan who had been made Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Establishment Division, has been transferred and posted as Inspector General of Islamabad police with immediate effect.
The Establishment Division has issued notification of his appointment in this respect. Caretaker government had appointed him as Inspector General of National Highways and Motorway Police under Ministry of Communication. Later, he was transferred and made OSD in the Establishment Division.
Jan Muhammad on Friday recused himself from performing duties as Islamabad IGP. IGP Muhammad was transferred on October 27 after he allegedly refused to take action on a complaint by Federal Minister Azam Swati's son regarding an incident at their farmhouse.
A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard a suo motu case regarding the Islamabad IGP's transfer. As the hearing went under way, Jan Muhammad recused himself from continuing to perform duties as Islamabad IGP.
