The Karachi Port handled 145,870 tonnes of cargo comprising 99,633 tonnes of import cargo and 46,237 tonnes of export cargo including 9,725 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargos of 99,633 tonnes comprised of 66,305 tonnes of containerised cargo; 164 tonnes of bulk cargo; 3,211 tonnes of DAP; 7,014 tonnes of rock phosphate; 6,540 tonnes of soyabean meal and 16,399 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 46,237 tonnes comprised of 46,237 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 9,725 containers comprising of 5,972 containers import and 4,653 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,211 of 20's and 1,845 of 40's loaded while 35 of 20's and 68 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 934 of 20's and 926 of 40's loaded containers while 643 of 20's and 612 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were three ships namely Hyundai Brave, Mayssan and Wan Hai-508 carrying containers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were three vessels viz. Ever Decent, YM Bamboo and Clemens Schulte carrying containers respectively currently at the berths. There was one ship namely Kota Karimn carrying containers sailed out to sea on Wednesday, while another ship namely Ever Decent carrying containers is expected to sail on Friday.
There were four vessels viz. CMA CGM Butterfly, Polo, Navios Unison and Chrisopigi Lady carrying containers and mogas respectively due to arrive on Wednesday while three vessels viz. MOL Gateway, AP Astarea and World Era-2 carrying containers, DAP and clinkers respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 73,634 tonnes comprising 67,754 tonnes of import cargo and 5,880 tonnes of export cargo including 2,418 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 67,754 tonnes includes 1,000 tonnes of bitumen; 11,923 tonnes of coal; 10,080 tonnes of soyabean and 44,751 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 5,880 tonnes includes 5,880 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,418 containers comprising of 2,138 containers import and 280 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
There were two ships namely MV East Ayull Maya and MV Darya Noor carrying palm kernel and coal respectively sailed out to sea on Wednesday. A total number of nine vessels were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, bitumen, soyabean, coal, chemical, palm kernel and vegetable oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as ten ships namely CV MOL Gateway, MV Agre Kinsale, MV Galateia, MV Medi Masura, MV Mega-I, MV Ikan Pulas, MV Olita, MT Horizon, MT Ardmore Chinook and MT Maritime Jingin carrying containers, soyabean seeds, canola seeds, coal and edible oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. There were two vessels viz. MV Ikan Pulas, MV Olita and MT Maritime Jingin carrying coal and edible oil respectively expected to take berths at Pakistan International Bulk Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Wednesday
There were three ships namely CV MOL Gateway, MV Ikan Pulas and MV Olita carrying containers and coal respectively due to arrive on Wednesday.
