Chief Commissioner Islamabad Ameer Ali Ahmed Friday constituted a seven-member joint investigation team (JIT) to probe the abduction and murder of Superintendent of Police (SP) Tahir Khan Dawar. According to a notification issued by the chief commissioner's office, the convener of the JIT will be SP police (investigation), Islamabad.
Other members of the team will include sub-divisional police officer Shalimar Circle, deputy superintendent of police Crime Investigation Department, investigation officer of the case, a representative of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), a representative of the Military Intelligence (MI) and a representative of the Intelligence Bureau (IB).
It merits mentioning here that SP Dawar, head of Peshawar police's Rural Circle, was kidnapped from Islamabad on October 26 and on November 14, the Afghan government confirmed the discovery of his dead body from Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.
