Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Minister for Information, Shaukat Yousafzai, has said that the provincial government has decided to develop four tourists' spots each year to attract maximum number of domestic and foreign tourists to the province. He said this during his visit to KP pavilion during an exhibition organised under the auspices of Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) in federal capital Islamabad on Sunday.
Managing Director (MD) TCKP, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, General Manager Admin & Properties, Sajjad Hameed, General Manager (Tourists Information Centre), Mohammad Ali Syed, Deputy Director, Culture Ajmal Khan and other officials were also present on the occasion.
The KP information minister said that in recent past, due to terrorism, the situation was not suitable for tourists to visit the province. But, now after the establishment of peace, a large number of tourists are coming to the province. He appreciated the promotion of the culture of KP, during the exhibition, and held it a good decision.
Shaukat Yousafzai said that Chitral, Malakand, Hazara, DI Khan and other areas have big potential for tourism. He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is also keen in the promotion of tourism in the country while the KP government is also taking steps in this regard. He said that beside the existing tourists' spots efforts are being taken for the establishment of new destinations.
