The 20th Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said Memorial Inter-School Football Championship tournament 2018 has started from December 13, 2018 at Bilawal Stadium, Madinat al-Hikmah, Karachi under the aegis of Hamdard Public School, Karachi.
While addressing the inaugural ceremony of the tournament, the guest and Dy. Accountant General Sindh, Baber Khan has said that extra curriculum activities was a way to bring out the hidden and dormant qualities of the students.
Because every student had certain qualities - some became good sportsmen, some enjoyed public speaking and some had inclination towards literature and poetry, as he himself was fond of music and still enjoyed good music though he had a bureaucratic profile, he added and advised children to respect their parents and teachers because they were the people who provided them all comforts and opportunities to learn and get proper training to make a way in the successful life. Later on he kicked the football to start the tournament.
In all eight football teams from different schools of Karachi would participate in this tournament. First match was played between Hamdard Public School and Happy Palace School which won by Hamdard Public School with a score of 6:0. Three other matches were also played on the first day of tournament.
Besides Mrs. Sadia Rashid, President, Hamdard Foundation Pakistan, Prof. Dr. Shabibul Hasan, Vice Chancellor Hamdard University, parents and students in a large number attended the inaugural ceremony.-PR
