The Supreme Court on Saturday directed interior ministry verbally to place the names of MNA Afzal Khokhar and MPA Saiful Mulook Khokhar on the Exit Control List (ECL). The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar while hearing a suo motu notice on complaints of overseas Pakistani also directed the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and Punjab Police to set up a complaint centre to investigate claims made against Khokhars.
The Chief Justice directed the LDA and police to compile and furnish a report on Khokhar brothers' alleged capture of land by December 22. In addition, Afzal and Mulook were also directed to submit details of their assets. "It's better that you relinquish the estate of widows and overseas Pakistanis you have seized," CJP Nisar warned. "We are getting numerous complaints against you," he added.
The CJ pulled out his phone and mentioned the complaints he had been receiving.
Saiful Mulook replying to the queries said "We have not grabbed anyone's land," "If grabbing is proved, I will not spare you," the CJP said. When CJ asked Saif about his relation with a property dealer Ashraf Shah, he denied any relation with him.
