Former MPA of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Qaiser Amin Butt, who is in the NAB custody as main accused in the Paragon Housing scam, was shifted to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) on Saturday following a heart problem.
The NAB officials took Qaiser to the PIC where initial tests were conducted besides extending the medical facility, said sources. The NAB has claimed that Saad Rafique and Salman Rafique in association with Qaiser Amin Butt and Nadeem Zia established a housing project in the name of Air Avenue which was converted into a new housing project namely M/S Paragon City Pvt Limited.
"The accused in collusion, connivance and collaboration of Qaiser Amin Butt and Nadeem Zia cheated public at large and obtained illegal pecuniary benefits from the funds of said housing project," the NAB said. The accused are operating this illegal housing project through their associates/co-accused who are collecting deposits from general public despite clear directions from LDA that this project is unapproved, it added.
