A no confidence motion is likely to be moved against PML-N-led government of Azad Jammu Kashmir by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) along with forward block of politicians from other major political parties, Deputy Secretary Information PTI Chaudhry Hameed Pothi told Business Recorder.
He said that PTI is getting strong position in AJK and disgruntled politicians of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pakistan People's Party and Jamaat-e-Islami have already joined the party. He explained that these politicians are unhappy with the poor performance of the PML-N government in AJK.
In addition, he said that Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ali Amin Gandapur has already directed to carry out audit of last 10 years and investigation of alleged embezzlement of Rs 2 billion in funds of Kashmir Council. These funds were allegedly utilized in election campaign of general elections for AJK Assembly to gain desired results, he said. He further said that his party was getting popularity and would win majority seats in general election of Azad Jammu Kashmir Assembly which is scheduled to be held in 2021.
Ch Hameed Pothi said that he left Pakistan People's Party (PPP) in protest after promulgation of 18th constitutional amendment and joined PTI in 2016. Under the amendment, the powers to disqualify a lawmaker were effectively vested with the party head and say of political workers in party affairs were ended, he added.
During the general election 2018, he said the PTI scored 20 seats out of 24 in National Assembly and 38 Provincial Assembly seats in North Punjab because of his and Amir Kayani's effective election campaign. He said that the party should not ignore those party workers who worked very hard for PTI to win election.
He said that inflow of foreign investment increased in response to the policies of the present government of PTI. He said on January 12, 2019, a delegation of multinational company would arrive here to meet with Prime Minister Imran Khan. The company had shown interest in investing in energy and housing sectors, he added. Responding to Kashmir policies, he recalled that for the first time, any Prime Minister tweeted against never ending brutalities in occupied Kashmir and took the matter to OIC and UN. He said that back door diplomacy with India was a positive step and India should show sincerity in resolving the Kashmir issue.
He said that people of India wanted a peaceful solution of Kashmir issue, adding that Indian government had to open Kartarpur Border last month under the pressure from its people. Talking about China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), he said America was doing negative propaganda against China and Pakistan. He said that policies of the incumbent PTI government have forced US administration to change its policy on Pakistan.
"It is for the first time that US administration requested Pakistan and involved Haqqani Network in talks with Taliban", he added. He further said that it was opposition parties' propaganda and there were no confrontations between Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Jahangir Tareen. He said the party needed partial re-organization in some regions.
