Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda on Friday said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder and current MQM-London chief is behind the recent unrest in Karachi. Addressing media alongside Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid, the Minister said that his analysis suggests that the recent unrest in Karachi and the killing of former MNA Ali Raza Abidi is directly linked to London-based MQM founder and "some of his cronies".
Faisal Vawda also said that some "in-house fighting within MQM factions" can also be behind the surge in worsening of security situation in Karachi. Vawda was of the view that killing party's own leaders is an "old tactic" of MQM-London to gain sympathy but his government will soon unearth the conspiracy behind his killers.
He concluded by saying that the PTI government will not allow such criminals to roam free on streets of the city and "such criminals will be hanged publicly". Sheikh Rasheed, on the other hand, commented on the fake accounts case JIT report and the placement of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leadership including Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah on the Exit Control List and suggested that the CM should resign. "The kind of revelations that emerged in JIT, I think Murad Ali Shah should resign," said Rashid.
The Minister repeated that he feels the "dirt of Pakistan's politics" will be cleaned before March 2019 and the looters will be held accountable.
