A joint delegation of International Memon Organization (IMO) and Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) under the leadership of IMO Patron-in-Chief Aqeel Karim Dhedhi and president Abdul Rahim Janoo had meeting with Sindh Governor Imran Ismail at the Governor House, Karachi.
The said meeting was attended by REAP chairman Safder Hussain Mehkri along with MC Members Rafique Suleman, Ashfaq Ghaffar, Jawed Jillani, Teka Mal, Abdul Qayum Paracha along with IMO vice president Asif Majeed, board members M Yahya Polani, Haji Masood Parekh, Ahmed Munaf, Anis Majeed and patrons Akhtar Younus Arfa and Farhan Pardesi.
During the meeting Abdul Rahim Janoo informed that IMO has started various projects on Literacy, Health and Job Opportunities to facilitate the people.
For the excellent services rendered by Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, IMO leadership has decided to declare him as 'REHBAR OF MEMON COMMUNITY' through a grand function at Governor House, Karachi on which Sindh Governor agreed to confirm this programme by the end of this month, he added.
REAP chairman Hussain Mehkri talked about the REAP's Rice Conference held at Larkana in November, 2018 and informed that 15 to 20 percent of Irri-6 Rice Crop gone damaged due to bad farm practices in Sindh Province.
"If the farmers of Sindh Province will use modern machinery for harvesting than we can double our crop in next 3 to 5 years and we can earn more foreign exchange for our beloved country which is the need of hours" he added. On behalf of REAP, he also invited Sindh Governor to visit REAP House, Karachi so that office bearers apprise him on our future plans. Sindh Governor assured his full cooperation with REAP for their future endeavours and will soon give time for REAP's Programme.
