An international conference on Kashmir is being held in London today (Tuesday) in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day to highlight the Indian forces' atrocities against innocent Kashmiris and the human rights violations in the occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has already left for London to address the conference which would also be attended among others by British members of the Parliament and Pakistani and Kashmiri leaders to highlight Kashmir cause at international forum.
According to Spokesperson Foreign Office Dr Mohammad Faisal, the conference is being held to express solidarity with the people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir and reiterate support for their right to self-determination.
The foreign minister will also meet British members of the parliament and other senior government officials and discuss with them matters of bilateral interest, besides highlighting Pakistan's principled stand on Kashmir.
The Foreign Office spokesperson, in a tweet, said that millions of people across the world are protesting in different parts of the world including Athens, Rome and other cities to show solidarity with the Kashmiris.
"Protestors in Rome take to streets in show of solidarity with the Kashmiris living under Indian occupation. They highlighted the atrocities and human rights violations being carried out by the Indian forces in occupied J&K," he further said. He said that the protesters are highlighting the human rights violations being committed by the Indian occupation forces in the occupied Kashmir.
