Sehat Insaf Card: Medical treatment worth Rs 720,000 to be provided to each family: Fawad
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has fulfilled one of its major promises by launching Sehat Insaf Card for Islamabad and erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). This was stated by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain here on Monday during a joint press conference along with Federal Minister for National Health Services Regulations and Coordination Aamer Mehmood Kiani.
Hussain said that objective of launching this scheme is to provide medical protection to the poorest segments of the society as medical treatment worth Rs 720,000 would be provided free of cost to each registered family.
Federal Minister for Health Aamir Mehmood Kiani said that the cards have been launched after the initiative met with success in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa. He further said that in case of an accidental death, Rs10,000 will be given to the card holder's family to cover the costs of the funeral. Kiani said that the Sehat Insaf Card system is very comprehensive and is being monitored in real time by National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA).
He also said that no government in the history of Pakistan has made such an investment on underprivileged members of the society. The people to get the card would be divided into three categories as per their income, he said, adding that the government was gathering the organisations working towards eradication of poverty in the country. Earlier today, Prime Minister Imran Khan launched the first phase of 'Sehat Card Scheme.'
