A five-year old girl was killed when Torkham-bound speedy coach hit at Wasef square bypass road, Khuga Khel, Landi Kotal on Tuesday. The administration and local sources informed that the minor girl, Memona d/o Imran was crossing the road when the passenger coach bearing registration no. (C-6241) ran over and injured her critically. She was rushed to the nearest health center however succumbed to her wounds. The ill-fated child had been in maternal grandfather house to attend marriage, locals told. The relatives put the body on the road in protest to block the highway for all kind of traffic for half hour although after assurance of the administration officials, traffic was resumed.
The driver of the vehicle identified as Shan Islam s/o Gul Zada of Loy-Shelman was arrested and put behind the bars for investigation, the administration official told.
