Governor of Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has said that all the institutions of accountability are independent. "Had there been any political intervention, Senior Minister Aleem Khan would not have been arrested," he said, speaking to the MPAs and MNAs of PTI from Multan and Minister Dr Akhter Malik and Minister Zawar Hussain Warraich.
Punjab governor said that three ministers, including Aleem Khan, resigned in view of accusations. However, he made clear that no political rival would be politically victimised but those two percent elite who looted country would not be pardoned. He said they want to strengthen institutions and across the board accountability. He said all decisions of Punjab Government are being taken by Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and they were only supporting him.
"Prime Minister Imran Khan is taking steps to make Pakistan prosperous and strong. There are no differences with PMLQ," he said, adding that they would govern the country together with allies. Ch Sarwar said that danger of bankruptcy of the country had been averted. He said Pakistan had been running on ad hoc-ism for past 70 years but PTI government would leave strong and prosperous Pakistan for our generations.
Punjab governor also inaugurated water filtration plant in Central Jail Multan. He said they were installing clean drinking water plants to provide clean and hygiene water to poor prisoners in the entire province. He said he would also pay fines up to Rs 200,000 to liberate prisoners from imprisonment. He said they were installing clean drinking water plants in Punjab from funds of Sarwar Foundation. "We are also providing free sewing machines to women prisoners in Punjab," Ch Sarwar said.
