Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) is the top corporate taxpayer of the country; paid highest tax. Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, acknowledging OGDCL's commitment towards national building, gave appreciation certificate to Zahid Mir MD/CEO-OGDCL, at a ceremony held in the Prime Minister's office.
Prime Minister observed that the true VIPs of Pakistan were those who pay the most tax and such citizens should be facilitated and honoured. He also said there was a need to change the mindset under which wealth creation was considered a "sin", so that people could be encouraged to invest in Pakistan.
OGDCL as the largest corporate taxpayer paid Rs 117 billion in Tax Year 2018 in the form of income tax, sales tax, royalty and dividend. OGDCL is the biggest company in Pakistan not only in E&P sector but all over in Pakistan. OGDCL is the only public sector company which is registered in London Stock Exchange. OGDCL indigenously produces 45 percent of oil, 29 percent of gas and 40 percent of LPG in overall production of the country.-PR
