The Punjab governor Ch Mohammad Sarwar on Saturday said that India should not consider Islamabad's talks offer as its 'weakness.' "We want relations with our neighbours on equal footings and will give befitting response in case of Indian aggression," he said while talking to the media and addressing the ceremony of giving 1200 blankets for shelter homes to deputy commissioner Lahore Saliha Saeed and Social Welfare Minister Ajmal Cheema, here at the Governor's House on Saturday.
The wife of Governor Punjab Perveen Sarwar, PTI leader Ch Ubaid-ur-Rehman, Rana Farooq, Kashif Hameed, Rana Umer and Rana Noor were present. The governor said that India is trying to commit 'water terrorism' but we will foil their negative attempts. He further said the present government has nothing to do with the operations and decisions of the NAB, FIA, and the FBR. "Parliament can make legislation to correct the flaws wherever needed," he said, adding: "Azam Swati, Aleem Khan and Babar Awan set new examples by resigning on mere allegations. The Judiciary also gave decisions against us but we never criticized them," he said, adding: "We don't know who will be arrested by the NAB."
The governor said that the PTI government believes in the autonomy of institutions and non-intervention in affairs of any institution. The present government is making sincere efforts aimed at alleviating the poverty from the country. "Our focus is on the uplift of the common man and clean drinking water will be provided to every home in Punjab during our tenure," he said.
Moreover, Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser met the governor Ch Mohammad Sarwar and discussed national issues and current political situation of the country.
Sarwar said that steps being taken by the government under the leadership of Imran Khan for bringing prosperity to the country are exemplary. "Confidence of the people in credibility of the government is increasing day-by-day and we will deliver on every front," he said.
