The Karachi Port handled 181,321 tonnes of cargo comprising 107,841 tonnes of import cargo and 73,480 tonnes of export cargo including 6,748 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargos of 107,841 tonnes comprised of 48,142 tonnes of containerised cargo; 36,049 tonnes of bulk cargo and 23,650 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 73,480 tonnes comprised of 41,591 tonnes of containerised cargo; 189 tonnes of bulk cargo; 27,600 tonnes of clinker and 4,100 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.= As many as 6,748 containers comprising of 3,087 containers import and 3,661 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,375 of 20's and 740 of 40's loaded while 02 of 20's and 115 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,192 of 20's and 566 of 40's loaded containers while 81 of 20's and 628 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were three ships namely APL England, Seaspan Yangtze and Merkur-O Sakura carrying containers and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were five vessels viz. MOL Grandeur, MP MR Tanker-1, Lake Sturgeon, Al Safa and Athos carrying containers, oil tankers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 165,682 tonnes comprising 117,087 tonnes of import cargo and 48,595 tonnes of export cargo including 3,444 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 117,087 tonnes includes 16,250 tonnes of LNG; 12,000 tonnes of palm oil; 32,347 tonnes of coal; 18,338 tonnes of steel coil and 38,152 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 48,595 tonnes includes 21,311 tonnes of condensate and 27,284 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,444 containers comprising of 2,008 containers import and 1,436 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There was one ship namely MT AL Thumama carrying LNG sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while five more ships namely CV APL Antwerp, CV Maersk Brooklyn, MV CO Chong Qing, MT Aristo Dimas and MT Silver Cattriona carrying containers, coal, condensate and palm oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eleven vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, soyabean, chemical, LNG, condensate and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as ten vessels viz. MV Orange Harmony, MV Valovine, MV Ikan Pulass, MV Equinox Agnadoussa, MV Sirrus Sky, MV Serene Lydia, MV Chemroad Journey, MT New Challang, MT Glorious and MT Maritime Royal respectively carrying soyabean, coal, chemical, mogas, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were three vessels viz. Navius Unite, MV Chemroad Journey and MT Glorious carrying containers, chemical and diesel oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Friday
There were two ships namely CV Navios Unite and MV Eternity carrying containers and coal respectively due to arrive on Friday, while three ship CV Diyala, CV Maersk Jalan and MV Core carrying containers and steel coil respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.
