The Khyber Khasadar personnel on Saturday staged a protest demonstration at Karkhano check post against introducing police system to the tribal districts by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. The protest was spearheaded by personnel of Khasadar force, tribal elders and leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Fazlur Rehman marched from Thakhtha Baig towards the Karkhano point while chanting slogans against imposition of police system in the ex-tribal districts.
Participants of the rally were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against introducing the police system. They also chanted slogans in favour of their demands. Addressing on the occasion, speakers including Subedar Mazhar, Subedar Jahangir and others resented forcibly policy of deployment of police in the merged tribal districts and said it was not acceptable and they were not ready to give up their powers to police.
"The decision will leave thirty thousand Khasadar persons jobless, across the tribal belt which is equal to hijack of matchless sacrifices, the forces have rendered in war against terrorism", they argued. They demanded that Khasadar should be merged in Levies and police power should be assigned to Levies force.
