At least six people, including five children and a female teacher, were killed while more than a dozen others got injured when a school wall collapsed in Gujranwala on Saturday. According to the Gujranwala Deputy Commissioner, a wall of the KT Model School located on Kashmir road collapsed. He said five children and a female teacher were killed in the wall collapse while about 20 others sustained wounds.
The deceased and injured were moved to a nearby medical facility. Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar took notice of the incident and directed the authorities to provide best possible medical care to those injured in the incident.
Earlier, on Feb 21, a teacher was killed in Gujranwala after the roof of a school had collapsed. Due to the continued rain, the already dilapidated roof over the principal's office in the Government Elementary School, Aroop caved in. Teacher Shakila and the principal Gulzar Awan were present at the time of the collapse. The teacher was killed while the principal had suffered wounds.
