Three-day International Trade Exhibition titled "My Karachi-Oasis of Harmony" hosted by Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be inaugurated on Friday at Karachi Expo Center. Sindh Governor Imran Ismail is scheduled to inaugurate this international event.
A large number of local and foreign exhibitors will showcase their products and services, and around one million visitors are expected. This Expo will provide a platform for business-to-business, and business-to-consumer meetings, besides providing expanded recreational facilities.
Highlighting the journey of My Karachi Exhibition, President KCCI Junaid Esmail Makda recalled that Chairman Businessmen Group and former president KCCI Siraj Kassam Teli, in the year 2004 being President KCCI felt there was a need to contradict the negative perception about Karachi, which mainly emerged due to negative projection by the foreign media, particularly of the West. Hence, KCCI initiated 'My Karachi Exhibition-Oasis of Harmony' exhibition from that year which was being regularly organized every year and it was gaining popularity in the world with increasing number of exhibitors and visitors.
He was confident that 16th My Karachi exhibition would provide an excellent chance to explore true trade potential of Karachi in particular and Pakistan in general, which is home to natural beauty, traditions and cultural heritages.
Junaid Makda also appreciated the support extended by the Sindh government, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and law enforcing agencies for making this event a big success and pride of the country.
He was of the view that despite numerous problems confronting the economy, the business community of Karachi remained steadfast and tried to remove the obstacles impeding the pace of commercial and industrial activities.
