Pemra chairman Muhammad Saleem Baig along with Executive Member Ashfaq Jumani called on Governor Sindh Imran Ismail here on Thursday. The chairman presented Pemra's performance report for the FY 2015-18 to the governor. During meeting, the chairman discussed various issues related to electronic media industry in Pakistan and expressed his unequivocal resolve to play a constructive role to address all issues related to this industry in coordination with the Sindh government. He acknowledged the efforts of the Sindh government in ensuring a conducive environment for the electronic media in Sindh and steps taken for development of the media industry. Moreover, the chairman extended his gratitude to Sindh Governor for cooperation of the Sindh government with the Authority in implementation of regulatory functions in the province.
The governor Sindh appreciated Pemra's constructive role in making efforts for betterment of the media industry in Pakistan and spreading Pakistani voice of peace and harmony across the world. He further lauded conduct of Pakistani media in recent standoff between India and Pakistan and appreciated professionalism shown by local media in countering Indian propaganda.
