Over 10 cases of various kinds of crimes, including robbery, dacoity and snatching at gunpoint, and seven cases of car lifting were reported to various police stations during the last week in spite of police's tall claims of strengthening security arrangements across the city.
According to data gathered by Business Recorder here on Saturday, two cases of kidnapping and one murder case were also reported to police stations of the city in the same period. The most 'favourite' areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Industrial Area, Noon, Aabpara and Sabzi Mandi police stations.
During the aforementioned period, Industrial Area police station registered two cases of auto theft and one case of robbery. One victim Ali Raza filed a complaint with Industrial Area police station that unknown robbers stole cash along with jewellery valuing Rs 350,000 from his house. The auto thieves stole a bike (AHM-334) of a citizen Amjad Mehmood and lifted a car WT-995 of another citizen Muhammad Adnan Ullah.
During the aforementioned period, one case each of robbery, kidnapping and auto theft was reported to Noon police station. The motor vehicle thieves stole a Mehran car bearing registration number IDL-3552 of Habib Ullah. One Ghulam Hussain informed Noon police station that an accused Pehlwan Phatan has kidnapped his brother Jameel Ahmed. A citizen Ziaur Rehman filed a complaint with Noon police station that two unknown persons snatched Rs 1,430,000 cash from him at gunpoint.
Aabpara police station registered one case each of robbery and auto theft during the period. One Ali Asad informed Aabpara police station that accused Farooq stole a mobile phone, a laptop and other valuables from his room. The auto thieves stole a car (ALJ-424) of a citizen Umer Zubair Khan.
During the period, Sabzi Mandi police station registered two cases of robbery. One Bilal Ahmed filed a complaint with Sabzi Mandi police station that accused Qasim stole a laptop, cash and an ATM card from his room.
In another incident, a citizen Waheed Ahmed informed Sabzi Mandi police station that unknown robbers stole cash and two DSLR cameras from his shop. In the same period, Lohi Bher, Secretariat, Kohsar and Bhara Kahu police stations registered one case each of robbery, while one case each of car lifting was reported to Khanna, Tarnol and Karachi Company police stations.
