The rupee continued weakness against the dollar on the money market on Saturday in the process of trading activity, dealers said.
OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee lost 20 paisas versus the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 142.00 and Rs 142.50 respectively, they said. The rupee was unchanged against the euro for buying at Rs 159.00 while it dropped by 15 paisas for selling at Rs 160.75, they said.
In the final US trade, the commercial centres were closed due to Good Friday.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee showed strength and appreciated its worth against the greenback in the local currency market on Saturday.
According to the currency dealers, the dollar resumed trading on a depressed note and remained under selling pressure. At close of trading, the dollar ended lower at Rs 141.25 and Rs 142.50 as its buying and selling rate against the overnight closing of Rs 142.20 and Rs 142.60, respectively.
On the contrary, the rupee remained weak and depreciated its value against the pound sterling that was traded at Rs 183.30 and Rs 185.15 on buying and selling counter as compared to the day earlier closing of Rs 182.90 and Rs 185.00, respectively, the dealers added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar gained 10 paisas against the rupee at the local currency markets of Islamabad and Rawaplindi on Saturday.
The dollar opened at Rs 142 (buying) and Rs 142.10 (selling) against last rate of Rs 141.90 (buying) and Rs 142(selling). It closed at Rs 142(buying) and Rs 142.10(selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 70,000 (selling) and Rs 70,200(buying) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
