Chairman National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) Usman Mubin on Friday briefed Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on the successful launch of online/e-visa facility, Foreign Office said. The chairman NADRA held a meeting with Foreign Minister Qureshi at the Foreign Office and briefed him on the launch of online/e-visa facility.
Speaking during the meeting, Qureshi said that the successful launch of e-visa facility is a big achievement of the PTI government, adding that e-visa facility has been introduced to issue visas timely and transparently. He said that the difficulties in getting visas can be overcome through online visa facility, adding that the facility is one of the major achievements of the present government.
The chairman NADRA apprised the foreign minister that online facility has become operational in all the Pakistani missions. After the launch of the e-visa facility, he said, a total of 1,946 visa applications have been received online. Of them, 1,152 applicants have been issued visas and 560 applications are under process, while 95 applications have been rejected on the basis of different technical reasons, he added.
