The Karachi Port handled 101,565 tonnes of cargo comprising 69,685 tonnes of import cargo and 31,880 tonnes of export cargo including 6,380 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargos of 69,685 tonnes comprised of 40,055 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,350 tonnes of rock phosphate and 27,300 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 31,880 tonnes comprised of 31,006 tonnes of containerised cargo; 594 tonnes of bulk cargo and 280 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 6,380 containers comprising of 2,651 containers import and 3,729 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,013 of 20's and 815 of 40's loaded while 08 of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 945 of 20's and 221 of 40's loaded containers while 594 of 20's and 874 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were eight ships namely Hyundai Loyalty, Botany Bay, Pacific Heron, Stolt Calluna, MT Karachi, Scot Bayern, Mid Eagle and Interlink Levity carrying containers, oil tankers, chemical and wheat respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were seven vessels viz. Ever Union, CMA CGM Butterfly, CMA CGM Mumbai, Paramita, Analipsi Lady, Breezy Victoria and W-Sky carrying containers, oil tankers and canola respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 211,244 tonnes comprising 158,937 tonnes of import cargo and 52,307 tonnes of export cargo including 4,133 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 158,937 tonnes includes 53,385 tonnes of furnace oil; 35,400 tonnes of LNG; 24,235 tonnes of coal; 14,500 tonnes of soyabean; 5,197 tonnes of chemical and 26,220 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 52,307 tonnes includes 52,307 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 4,133 containers comprising of 1,380 containers import and 2,753 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday. There were two ships namely MOL Generosity and Maersk Atlanta carrying containers sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while three more ships namely CPO Bremen, IVS Bosch Hoek and VTM Bamzi carrying containers, coal and furnace oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, soyabean, palm kernel and furnace oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. As many as ten vessels viz. Hai Ji, Sea Hope-II, Ocean Bao, Aeriko, Zealand Amsterdam, GH Northern Dancer, Kamilla Kosan, Shalamar, BW Panthar and Star Osprey respectively carrying canola seeds, coal, chemical, furnace oil and diesel oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were six vessels viz. MOL Courage, Hansa Africa, Star Crimson, Sea Hope-II, Kamilla Kosan and Star Osprey carrying containers, coal, chemical and diesel oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday.
There were three ships namely MOL Courage, Hansa Africa and Star Crimson carrying containers, coal respectively due to arrive on Thursday. There is one ship namely CMA CGM Butterfly carrying containers due to arrive on Friday.
