Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Authority has launched a crackdown against low quality, unhygienic sweets, sealed six bakery outlets and production units in Peshawar. According to the details, while leading KP Food authority's night squad, Director General Riaz Khan Mahsud inspected more than 12 bakery outlets and their production units.
Six out of 12 bakery outlets and their production units were sealed over noncompliance with food safety standards. These six sealed bakeries include, Khog Mahal of Phando road, Alfarooq Bakers, Shereen Mahal and Cake Palace of University Town Peshawar.
While concluding the crackdown director general Riaz Khan Mahsud said that these bakeries were using nonfood graded colors and their production units were severe unhygienic and full of dirt. Commenting on the crackdown director general revealed that operation against bakers has been kicked off unanimously across the province where more than 18 bakery outlets have been sealed in the last two days.
