Murtaza WahabKARACHI: Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh on Information Barrister Murtaza Wahab said Wednesday that protesting young doctors had announced to end their strike following successful negotiations.

Talking to media persons and flanked by doctor representatives Dr. Peer Manzoor and Dr. Ahmed Sultan at Sindh Assembly today evening, Wahab said that health department had agreed to genuine and bone fide demands of protesting young doctors and OPDs of all hospital would be opened today this evening.

"Sindh doctors will be given same allowances like Punjab. The top priority of the government is to provide relief as much as to the patients. Sindh government has established state of art health institutions in the province like NICVD and Gambat Institute of Health Sciences which were providing world class health services to poor people of the province as well as the country."

To a question, he said that health professionals came under essential services and they discussed with doctors' representatives to devise a mechanism so as to avoid strikes in future.

He said that doctors had agreed to voluntarily serve 14 hours instead of 12 which was commendable gesture.
