The provincial president, ANP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Aimal Wali Khan has demanded allowing local and international observers to monitor electoral process in the merged districts of the erstwhile FATA. In a statement issued from Bacha Khan Markaz here Saturday, the ANP leader expressed reservations over the deployment of military inside and outside polling stations in the upcoming provincial assembly polls in newly merged districts (NMDs) of the province.
Aimal Khan said that the duty of the security agencies is only to guarantee arrangements for implementation of law and order. He said that the deployment of the military personnel during polling is open intervention and added that ANP will any decision that would become hurdle in holding transparent polls.
