Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) soyabean futures sagged on Wednesday on technical selling and expectations that cooler temperatures will ease stress on US crops next week, traders said. CBOT August soyabeans settled down 5-1/4 cents at $8.82-1/2 a bushel. New-crop November soyabeans end down 5-1/2 cents at $9.00-1/2. CBOT August soyameal dropped $0.90 to $307.50 per short ton, and August soyaoil slipped 0.31 cent to settle at 27.68 cents per pound.
Most-active December soyabeans continued to pull back from a one-year high reached on Monday. Traders said cooler weather next week would be welcome for US crops after a heat wave late this week. Worries about weakened demand from China, the world's top soya importer, also continued over the soya complex, traders said. China has reduced imports of soyabeans to feed hogs as a fatal swine disease has spread through the country.
