Chicago Board of Trade soft red winter wheat futures and K.C. hard red winter wheat futures fell on Wednesday as US harvests progressed, traders said. CBOT September soft red winter wheat ended down 2 cents at $5.05-1/2 per bushel. K.C. September hard red winter wheat closed 4-1/2 cents lower at $4.41-3/4 a bushel, and MGEX September spring wheat slipped 2-1/2 cents to $5.27-3/4.
Harvest continues to advance through northern Kansas with farmers trying to pick up the pace to make up for time lost to unfavorable weather, according to Kansas Wheat, a state industry group. Egypt's state grain buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC), said it bought 60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat in a tender on Wednesday.
