The Punjab Assembly on Wednesday unanimously passed a resolution to condemn Indian atrocities in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and abrogating articles 370 and 35-A which abolished the special status of Occupied Kashmir. The resolution through the federal government also demanded the United Nations to take action over Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir. The House appreciated that the whole nation, armed forces and the government is on one page on this issue. It assured the Kashmiri people that Pakistan will continue its moral, diplomatic and political support for them.
The House demanded that international community should take notice of the human rights violations in Kashmir. It also demanded that international media should be allowed entry in Kashmir so that real face of India could be exposed. Speaking on resolution, several members from treasury and opposition benches paid rich tributes to sacrifices being rendered by the people of Kashmir for their right to self-determination.
Speaking on the occasion, PML (N) MPA Sardar Awais Laghari said that Prime Minister Imran Khan himself said that if the BJP wins in general elections some kind of settlement on Kashmir could be reached. "Why the government is in a fix now?" he wondered.
Provincial Minister Fayyaz Ul Hassan Chohan said the government is ready to talk with India under the Shimla Agreement. He also said that real face of Indian secularism has exposed. He added that PM Imran Khan had pointed out the issue of Kashmir on all forums, he added.
Earlier, Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentary leader Syed Hassan Murtaza walked out from the House after being denied permission to speak on the Kashmir issue by Deputy Speaker Dost Mazari who said that he will allow only persons to speak on the issue whose names are in the list.
