Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Monday rejected the statement of senior party leader Hamid Khan who said the party had become "establishment's handpicked party." President Insaf Lawyers Forum Shahid Naseem Gondal while reacting on Hamid Khan's statement said it was an absurd attempt to gain political mileage, adding that his statement was an amalgamation of contradictions.
"We are aware of the intentions behind the politically motivated statement of Hamid Khan," he said, adding Hamid Khan must not twist facts in a bid to retain his declining fame in legal fraternity.
Gondal asked Khan to inform the nation about his reservations over the ongoing accountability process, saying masses were cognisant of the fact that accountability across the board was the testament of Prime Minister Imran Khan's 22 years political struggle.
Furthermore, he said that attempts to paint PTI as establishment's handpicked party by PPP, PML-N and now Hamid Khan had come to naught and had also been rejected by the masses.
Gondal urged Khan to join the parties whose narrative he was trumpeting. He also asked PTI leadership to take necessary disciplinary action against Hamid Khan for the vile statement.
Meanwhile, the members of PTI governing bodies of the executive committees including the Centre, Punjab and South Punjab chapters took oath on Monday. According to the details issued by party's Central Media Department, Chief Organiser PTI Saifullah Khan Niazi administered oath of the new office-bearers of PTI here at party's Central Secretariat Islamabad. The newly appointed members of Central Executive Committee include Amir Kiyani, Dr Abulhassan, Ahmed Jawad, Omar Sarfaraz Cheema, Ejaz Rafi Butt, Colonel Amanullah (retd), Omer Farooq Mayer, Zahid Kazmi and Neelofar Bakhtiyar.
From Punjab, Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhary, Ejaz Hussain Minhas, Choudhary Ashfaq, Shabbir Sial, Shoaib Siddiqui, Nadeem Bhandar, Brigadier Mumtaz Kahloon (retd), Rana Nadeem, Usman Basra, Arif Abbasi, Attaullah Khan, Shakeel Niazi, Hafiz Obaidullah and Shabbir Sial.
From South Punjab, Noor Khan Baba, Ayesha Nazir Jutt, Moinuddin Qureshi, Mian Farzand, Ali Raza Dreshak, Musaddiq Shah and Naeem ud Din Warraich swore oath.
Speaking on the occasion, Saifullah Khan Niazi stated that PTI had successfully concluded the reorganisation process of the party and the new constitution had also been implemented. In the next phase of the reorganisation, he said, organisation at the lower levels would be done. He pledged to make decision-making process more efficient through mutual consultations. "Once the reorganisation process concludes, we will look forward to address problems faced by the masses. We must counter the opposition's attempts against the PTI-led federal and provincial governments," he added.
Taking a jibe at PML-N and PPP, he said their decades-long rule had deteriorated the country. "We must commit ourselves to resolve public issues and make governance better and support the government in the implementation of its manifesto," he added.
