As many as three bills including The Punjab Seized and Freezed Institutions (Madaris and Schools) Ordinance 2019, The Punjab Seized and Freezed Facilities (Hospitals and Dispensaries) Ordinance 2019 and The Punjab Regulation of Services (Amendment) Ordinance 2019 were laid in The Punjab Assembly on Monday.
Meanwhile, the opposition in Punjab Assembly strongly protested against the arrest of political workers during the protest against the government on July 25. The Pakistan People's Party walked out from the House against the remarks of Minister Prosecution Punjab Chaudhry Zaheerud Din against former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
PML-N MPA Khalil Tahir Sindhu protested against the irresponsible behavior of Director General Research Punjab Assembly Inayatullah Lak by wearing a black strip. Sindhu said the DG had used derogatory language against a minority legislator. He said he wanted to present call attention notice against the murder of Badil Maseeh but Inayatullah Lak stopped it from placing on the agenda. He demanded that an inquiry committee should be constituted on this matter. He alleged that Lak wanted to create confrontation between them and Speaker Punjab Assembly Pervez Elahi.
Deputy Speaker Dost Mohammad Mazari directed to constitute a committee on the murder of 11-year-old Badil Maseeh which will submit its report in 10 days.
Speaking on the floor of House, PML-N MPA Rana Mashood Ahmed said the government which claimed that they will provide container to opposition for protest had registered cases against 260 workers of PML-N and issued the orders of their arrest. He alleged that Minister Schools Education Dr Murad Rass has occupied the office of Punjab Text Book Board and he is illegally using government cars.
While responding to Rana Mashood, Dr Rass said that he (Mashood) had destroyed the whole education system of Punjab and soon he will be arrested.
Earlier, while talking to media outside Punjab Assembly Information Minister Punjab Mian Aslam Iqbal said that all the opposition parties in Punjab Assembly have jointly failed to complete the quorum because their sole agenda is limited to politics of personalities and protection of their leaders' corruption. That is why; the opposition did nothing except wasting time in their non-parliamentary talks and demanding issuance of the production order for the leaders that have been sent behind the bar for their corruption. He said that the opposition should help run the house, managed through taxpayers' money, in the best of public interest and purposeful manner. They should not attend the session for the sake of their TA/DA, he maintained.
