KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday annoyed at Investigation Officer (IO) on the lack of progress in cases against police officials and it summoned the Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi Dr Ameer Shaikh.
A two-member bench of the SHC headed by Justice Aftab Ahmed Gorar heard the petition filed by Amal Khan against police officials, who allegedly killed his son by dubbing him as Taliban.
The bench remarked that such policemen pose themselves as emperor when they come on roads.
Justice Aftab Gorar remarked: “You (Police) trap people in cases whenever you want.’’
The petitioner stated before the bench that Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mukhtiar and Inspector Asmatullah Khan had detained his son, and later killed him.
He stated that these policemen had demanded bribe of Rs1 Crore from him for releasing his son.
