An important meeting to review arrangements for post-Hajj flights operation was held at Bacha Khan International Airport (BKIA) Peshawar on Tuesday. The post hajj flight operation will start from August 17. The meeting was chaired by Chief Operating Officer Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Ubaidur Rehman Abbasi during which the timely solution of possible problems and difficulties during arrival of pilgrims at the BKIA Peshawar discussed.
Officials of district administration, civil aviation authority, press information department, anti-narcotics force, Pakistan customs, airport security force and local police were present in the meeting.
Ubaidur Rehman Abbasi told the meeting on the occasion that this year 26,158 pilgrims would perform Hajj this year from Khyber Pakthunkhwa including 19,939 through Govt scheme and 6,219 through private scheme. The meeting was further informed that intending pilgrims from Khyber Pakthunkhwa were airlifted through 75 flights and the last flight would be flown to the holy land on August 07, 2019.
The airport manager said first flight of Saudi Airways carrying Pakistanis pilgrims will land at Bacha Khan Airport on August 17, 2019.
Keeping in view of the construction works and existing situation, he appealed relatives and well-wishers of the pilgrims to use minimum vehicles for carrying of the pilgrims, saying the Hujjaj would be seen off at the airport gate and urged them to cooperate with security staff.
