The Sindh Agriculture Minister Muhammad Ismail Rahoo has said that Sindh Government has taken serious efforts to save the agricultural land from the attack of locust and started the spray work within time. This he said while presiding over a meeting with District Administration Tharparkar and Agriculture Department concerned officers to review the locust spray work in the district Tharparkar at Darbar Hall Mithi.
The Deputy Commissioner Tharparkar Dr Shahzad Tahir Taheem and agriculture department concerned briefed about the details of work done regarding the locust spray in the district and said that after the reports of locust attack on agricultural land on 25th June 2019 the spray work started in time which is still being continued in the district specially in taluka Nagarparkar, Dahi, Chachro and Islamkot, and there are 7 teams working with the help of 7 spray vehicles and 40 villages have been covered and in above mention 4 talukas 9500 acres land have been sprayed and spray work is being continued on daily basis.
On the occasion the Sindh Minister for Agriculture Muhammad Ismail Rahoo assured that all the hurdles and problems would be resolved in this work.
He further added that Sindh agriculture department is making efforts to boost up the agriculture growth in barrage areas but also working on dry areas for the growth cultivation and for this purpose Sindh Government has approved the scheme to establish Dry Land Farming Research Institute in Mithi very soon so that for local farmers research could be done for the hyetal cultivation of merchandise with very low level water, along with tunnel system the seasonal vegetables could be soiled and local famers would be trained in research work in cultivation field so that they can able to yield their land with new trends of agricultural field.
After that the Provincial Minister for Agriculture along with Member Provincial Assembly Rana Hameer Singh, Town Chairman Nagarparkar Sardar khan Khoso and Deputy Commissioner Tharparkar Dr Shahzad Tahir Thaheem and Agriculture Department concerned visited the various villages of taluka Nagarparkar including Dhondharo, Sakri and other villages to review the spray work of locust.
