The PTI on Monday highlighted the law and order situation and claimed that people have become more vulnerable due to new police order, adding that the DIG Police overlooked the opposition legislator's phone call when he was contacted in the aftermath of a crime incident. PTI's parliamentary leader, Aleem Adil Shaikh placed a privilege motion in the house and debated his move that DIG Police shrugged off to attend his phone call that hurt his status being the provincial legislator. He said that the assembly should take action against the DIG police for remarks against him without any evidence.
He said that the dacoits killed a youth in his constituency the other night, which he followed with calling in the DIG Police but he did not attend, challenging his privilege as an MPA. He contended that the police attitude is unbecoming and the house should step up its action to correct the law enforcing top brass.
A similar charge, Shaikh placed against the police indifference towards the public on a call attention notice, saying that Chief Minister Sindh should come out with a reply to the growing disorder in the province. He said that the Chief Minister should let the house know why law and order deteriorated with the new police order. He said that a kid named - Sana Ullah was robbed in Faqira Goth as none took action against robbers. He alleged police for extorting in the area.
"How long will we continue to collect the bodies of our people? If there is no replacement of Rao Anwar till then there will be no police officer will be appointed," he asked, adding that there is no SSP in Malir. In reply, Saeed Ghani, Sindh Information Minister, opposed his privilege motion for being against the assembly rules. However, he said that DIG should have received his call since he was a member of the Sindh legislature. Shaikh withdrew his motion after Ghani assured him of action.
The house also introduced "the Sindh Advisors [Appointments, Powers, Functions, Salaries and Privileges (Amendment)] Bill, 2019". Latter the house's proceeding was adjourned until Tuesday at 3 pm.
