Amid slogans of 'Kashmir Banay ga Pakistan,' people across the province of Punjab, like other parts of the country, marked "Kashmir Hour" to express solidarity with the people of Indian occupied Kashmir facing continued curfew imposed by Indian government and brutalities at the hands of Indian forces. Sirens were blared at 12 noon.
After it, the national anthem was played followed by the anthem of Kashmir. One minute silence was observed and traffic remained stopped. Special prayers were also offered for the success of the freedom struggle of Kashmiris. According to reports reaching here, people from all walks of life including traders, government employees, students, doctors, other professionals, political activists took to streets to show solidarity with the Kashmiris.
Later, in Friday prayers, special sermons and prayers for Kashmiri people were offered. In Lahore, Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar and Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar attended a public gathering held at Faisal Chowk. President PTI Punjab Ijaz Chaudhry, provincial ministers including Raja Basharat, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Yasir Humayun, Ansar Majeed Khan, Hashim Jawan Bakht, Dr Akhtar Malik, chief secretary, IG Police and a large number of people were present on the occasion.
The participants strongly protested against the brutalities of the Modi government in Occupied Kashmir and raised slogans including 'long live Pakistan' and 'Kashmir Banay Ga Pakistan.' Various government departments, corporations, private organizations and educational institutions took out rallies on city roads to observe "Kashmir Hour" with zeal and express solidarity with people of Kashmir.
The rallies were taken out at 12 noon till 12:30 p.m to express solidarity with people of Indian occupied Kashmir facing continued curfew imposed by Indian government and brutalities by Indian forces. Participants of the rallies carried banners/placards inscribed with freedom slogans on behalf of Kashmiris and anti-Indian government, anti-Modi writings.They chanted slogans for early freedom of Indian occupied Kashmir.
The CM Sardar Usman Buzdar said that India's worst treatment of Kashmiris is unprecedented in human history. Today, the Pakistani nation has given a message to the world that Pakistan is firmly standing with the Kashmiris and both are one, he added. Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar announced that campaign-'lift curfew from Kashmir' will be taken to every corner of the world forcing India to lift the curfew. He said that day is not far when Kashmir will become part of Pakistan.
Provincial Minister for Information, Culture, Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal led a rally from Queens Road to Punjab Assembly. Mian Aslam Iqbal said that today the whole nation is on the road for expressing solidarity with our Kashmiri brethren. He said that today Pakistan nation has given a clear message to the world that Kashmiris are not alone in their struggle for the right of self-determination, the whole nation is standing beside them.
A walk was held at the Lahore General Hospital to express solidarity with the Kashmiris. Doctors, Nurses, Para Medical Staff and other employees and citizens of LGH attended this protest in a large number. They were carrying banners and posters having slogans in favor of Kashmiri brothers. While addressing the participants, Principal Sardar Mohammad Alfareed Zafar, Convener PMDC Dr Saeed ur Rehman and MS LGH Dr. Mahmud Salah Uddin said that the struggle of independence of Kashmir has entered into decisive moment and if fascist Modi tried to impose was on Pakistan then all the India will be made the past story.
