Recent rains seem to have suddenly brightened the prospects of the agriculture sector, the key plank of country's economy. It is therefore quite likely that the country's economy will come out of the slowdown mode anytime soon. Previously, the crop sector faced the consequences of acute water shortage. However, livestock and forestry sectors still managed to register better growth. The government is required to conceive, plan and execute all the right policies aimed at fuelling economy.
The business sentiment at this point of time is lacklustre while the absence of a much-needed boost to economy adding to the number of jobless people in the country. Prime Minister Imran Khan has been taking briefings on economy on a regular basis. But the decisions taken by him and his colleagues are yet to be translated into firm actions.
