The Environment Protection Department (EPD) Punjab has sealed three steel mills in Mominpura for using substandard fuel and emitting hazardous smoke. Talking to the media here on Friday, EPD Deputy Director Ali Ijaz said his department is taking indiscriminate action against the mills creating environmental pollution.
In this regard, the deputy director said an EPD team sealed three steel mills in Mominpura which include Jahangir Steel Mill, Husnain Steel Mill and Allah Dittah Steel Mill for utilizing substandard fuel and releasing hazardous smoke. Earlier, Ijaz said they had served several notices to these mills but they did not follow the instructions and continued polluting the environment.
